World Premiere of “Mata Hari –The Naked Spy” on Feb. 9 at Santa Fe Film Festival

The Santa Fe Film Festival will host the world premiere of the documentary, “Mata Hari – The Naked Spy” at the Center for Contemporary Art at 7:00 pm on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018.

In person: Directors Machiel Amorison and Susan Wolf, actress/dancer Florence Rapati and editors Bob Sarles and Christina Keating. Audience Q & A  will follow the screening.

Don’t miss the sneak preview of Mata Hari’s dance! Florence Rapati will perform Mata Hari’s dance as seen in the film.  Her performance will be a highlight at the  Crazy Heart 1 SFFF party on Feb. 8 at the Drury Hotel Rooftop Bar. 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

There is no existing film footage of Mata Hari performing her infamous dance, so actress/dancer Florence Rapati choreographed her own interpretation of the dance based on eye witness descriptions. Frank van Wanrooij, imagining the music Mata Hari may have danced to, composed an evocative piece drawing on the musical traditions of Indonesia. Irene Klomp designed the dance costume spending over 1,000 hours painstakingly creating the intricate metal bra that was the signature of Mata Hari.

Florence is delighted to be coming to Santa Fe, it is her first trip to the United States.  Director/Producer Machiel Amorison is also coming from Amsterdam and traveling from San Francisco are Director/Producer Susan Wolf and Editors, Bob Sarles and Christina Keating.

A five day celebration of the best in cinematic arts, the 16th Annual Santa Fe Film Festival will run February 7th-11th, 2018 with a  program of over 40 films, panels, juried awards, workshops and parties. The special setting of the festival in the unique and historic city of Sant Fe allows filmmakers, journalists, industry leaders and audiences from around the world to join together in celebration of film.
